Pendle Hill licensee fined over waste breaches

The NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) has fined Pendle Hill waste operator iTreat Pty Ltd $1500 for alleged offences related to their management of grease trap waste at their Pendle Hill premises.
iTreat was issued the Penalty Notice and an official caution for multiple breaches where their treated grease trap waste exceeded the maximum acceptable concentrations of metals including copper, chromium and zinc.
iTreat processes grease trap waste, diverting it from landfill and providing it as a soil amendment for application to agricultural land, where the levels of metals must be kept within strict limits to avoid any adverse impact on the land. Recycling of treated grease trap waste can be a way of applying organic nutrients to land, but it must be done following strict guidelines. ....

Formation of Expert Committee need of the hour: Mehta

Reacting to his induction as a member in the expert committee on UCBs, as announced by RBI on Monday, Nafcub President Jyotindrabhai Mehta said, “the constitution of an expert committee is the need of the hour.”
Talking to Indian Cooperative Mehta added “the Banking Regulation Amendment Act was a big step forward so far as the growth of the UCB sector was concerned and now this Committee will fulfil aspirations of the sector.
Promising to do his best Mehta said “We will work together to strengthen the cooperative banking sector.”
It bears recall that RBI announced the constitution of an Expert Committee on UCBs, which will be chaired by N S Vishwanathan, Former Deputy Governor. ....

The latest Auckland lockdown put a dampener on the New Zealand sharemarket and those stocks most affected by the Covid pandemic as the leading index fell another half per cent and moved closer to a
real correction.
